Santorini Tour from Crete

First Stop: Oia
After arriving at Santorini port, the buses will leave for Oia. In the days of high traffic, the stops might change and the first stop will be Fira. Depending on the existing traffic in Oia and the timetable of the tour, the participants will stay for approximately 2 hours. Later on, the bus will depart for the next stop, Fira.

Oia is a coastal town in the northwestern part of Santorini. The town has whitewashed houses carved into the rugged clifftops and overlooks a vast caldera filled with water. In a 19th-century mansion, the Naval Maritime Museum has exhibits on local seafaring history, including old figureheads, sailor's chests, and models of old ships. Nearby is the ruined Oia Castle, known for its sunset views. 

Second Stop: Fira
On the way to the town of Fira, the participants will receive interesting information about the tour program, while traveling through a large part of the island by road. Upon their arrival in Fira, they will spend 2 hours.

Fira is the capital of Santorini. The Museum of Prehistoric Thira displays items from the destroyed Bronze Age settlement of Akrotiri, including wall paintings and ceramics. Nearby, the whitewashed Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral has frescoes by local artist Christoforos Asimis. Fira’s clifftop location affords views of Nea Kameni, a still-active volcanic island to the west.

Tour Option: Visit the Volcano of Santorini (Extra Charge-20€). The participants will enjoy the unique beauty of the volcano and have the opportunity to swim in its hot springs. Based on availability and sufficient numbers.

Itinerary

06:00-07:00: Bus departure from Agios Nikolaos/ Elounda/Ammoudara/Heraklion/Gouves/Analipsi/Anissaras/Hersonisos/Stalida/Malia.

Pass by: Heraklion Port (08:00a.m) - boarding. Boat departure to Santorini. 2-hour and 15-minute cruise.

Pass by: Athinios port-Santorini. Here we catch our bus for a tour around the island.

Stop at: Oia. 2 hours stop. Uncover the beauty of this glamorous small town, and capture memorable photos.

Stop at: Fira. 2 hours stop. Free time to stroll around for shopping, or enjoy a coffee or a  drink, admiring the breathtaking view of the Caldera.

16:00: Athinios Port - boarding Boat departure to back to Crete. 2-hour cruise.

Pass by: Heraklion Port-Crete. Bus departure to Hersonissos.

19:00 Approx return time back to Ammoudara/Heraklion/Gouves/Analipsi/Anissaras/Hersonisos/Stalida/Malia.

Boarding at the ports of Crete
At Heraklion port of departure, participants will present their voucher (given by the agency) in order to receive their ferry tickets, and a card referring to the right bus number in Santorini.

Heraklion to Santorini Ferry Time Departure: 08:00 a.m.

Arrival in Santorini

The itinerary lasts almost 2 hours from Heraklion, depending on the ship and the weather conditions. At the port of Santorini, our escorts will welcome the participants and escort them on the right bus.

Crete to Santorini Ferry Time arrival: 10:20 a.m

Santorini to Crete Ferry Time departure: 04:00 p.m

Arrival at Heraklion Port: 06:30 - 07:00 p.m

Be Smart

Bring comfortable walking shoes with rubber soles for good grip.
Be at the pickup point at least 10 minutes earlier. Check your ticket for the correct time.
Don’t bring too much money. Credit/Debit cards are accepted almost everywhere.
Limit your luggage. Too much weight is always a problem.
A hat, sunglasses, sun cream, and a swimsuit are required in most cases.
Water, lip balm, insect repellent, and anti-bacterial hand wipes/hand sanitizer are sometimes essential.
Leave your valuables at your hotel.
Bring your personal medication and prescriptions.
You must always carry a copy of your passport with you. Although not required it's always a good idea.
Children must be accompanied by an adult
The Santorini fast boat (ferry) cruise is subject to weather conditions. If the cruise is canceled due to bad weather conditions you will be refunded the price of the ticket or you will be given the option of an alternative date.

How to book a Santorini Day Trip

Step 1: Choose Your Activity

Once you decide which Santorini tour you wish to book online, you will have to check the availability of each tour. You only have to click on the “Date” box and there you can choose the date or day that is more comfortable for you. The Dates/days are highlighted. Prices are per adult.

After choosing your date of departure you add the number of adults and children. Please note the following:

Adults: 10+ years old.

Children: 4-10 years old.

Infants (free): 0-3.99 years old.

Once you add the persons you press the ‘Search” button.

Step 2: Add to Cart

You press the “Add to Cart” button. The activity is now available in your purchase cart. You may book the same way two, three, or more activities.

Step 3: Visit the Cart

The cart is situated in the top right corner. Press on the “Cart” image. This will provide you with a list of the tours you have chosen. Check the total price, the number of persons, the name of the activity, and the date. If you wish, you may erase the chosen activity, by clicking the “X”(delete) button and restarting the procedure. When you are ready you press the “Checkout” button.

Step 4: Checkout

Here you will need to fill out the form with your details and press “Continue”. The personal information that we collect from you is stored by us, on databases protected through a combination of physical and electronic access controls, firewall technology, and other reasonable security measures. We will neither sell nor release your registration, personal, and usage data to outside organizations.

If you cannot locate your hotel name, please email us the name of your hotel and we will add it to our list. The hotel list includes the following areas of Crete: Hersonissos, Heraklion, Analipsi, Anissaras, Gouves, Malia, Gournes, and Kokkini Hani.

Step 5: Payment

After pressing the “Continue to Payment” button you will be redirected to a secured Eurobank e-commerce environment. Here you fill in your card details. Once your payment is made, you will receive a confirmation of your payment and the activities you have purchased. Within 24 hours you will receive a boarding voucher/ticket for each activity in Crete you have purchased with all the details, including the exact pickup point with "Google map location" and time-based on your hotel selection.
