This trip takes us to the most famous landmark of Crete, Knossos; the place where myth meets history. Knossos was the capital of the Minoan state, the first European civilization, where the dynasty of Minos ruled. The palace is connected with thrilling legends due to its size and its intricate design. Here you have a guided tour and you learn about King Minos, his daughter Ariadne, and of course, the mythical Minotaur that lived in a maze, the so-called Labyrinth. The marvelous architectural plan of Daedalus, the rare and luxurious materials, the advanced techniques of construction, the elaborate drainage system, and the size of the palace make it one of the most amazing sights on the island. Knossos is probably the most significant piece of evidence that is a remnant of a civilization that cannot be erased from history.
Leaving the Palace, we are going towards Patsides to visit the Minoan Farm, a place where you have the opportunity to try their products, such as honey, and olive oil, and wander their estate fully planted with Cretan herbs. The last stop will be the city of Heraklion, the capital of Crete. You have free time to enjoy your coffee in one of the numerous cafés of the city, shop in the modern stores or just take a stroll around and explore the fascinating old buildings.
